National Science and Technology Forum (NSTF)

Executive Directors stakeholders Roadshow to the Western Cape (WC), 28 October to 4 November 2025

The NSTF is a stakeholder forum bringing science, engineering, technology (SET) and innovation professionals, practitioners and organisations together to collectively promote and actively participate to ensure a wide and healthy national system of innovation (NSI). NSTF directly engages with its members (over 150 organisations), and other stakeholders and role-players of the community, to strengthen relations, build the network and ensure inclusivity and participation. Following are the NSTF Executive Director’s (Ms Jansie Niehaus) outreach to the Western Cape (WC) in October to November 2025 visiting: 

  1. Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) Ideathon: Shaping the future of research and development investment in the WC 
  2. Dr Rachael Dangarembizi (2025 TW Kambule-NSTF Emerging Researcher Award winner) at the Centre for Infectious Diseases Research in Africa (CIDRI-Africa), University of Cape Town (UCT) 
  3. Synexa Life Sciences
  4. Cape Town Science Centre
  5. Prof Shahida Moosa (2025 NSTF-SAMRC Clinician-Scientist Award winner) at the Medical Genetics Department (Stellenbosch University) at Tygerberg Hospital 
  6. Innovation and Commercialisation Unit, Stellenbosch University (2025 NSTF-South32 Innovation: Corporate Organisation Award winner)
  7. Prof Yin-Zhe Ma (2025 TW Kambule-NSTF Researcher Award winner) at the Astrophysics Group, Stellenbosch University (SU)
  8. University of the Western Cape (UWC) Innovation Hub 
  9. Inaugural South African Research Software Symposium 2025 held at UCT
