London International Youth Science Forum, 19 July – 1 August 2026
The National Science and Technology Forum (NSTF)‘s partnership with the London International Youth Science Forum (LIYSF) continued for the fourth consecutive year for selected students of the NSTF Brilliants Programme. Nine students (up from six in 2025) attended the LIYSF in the United Kingdom (UK) from 19 July to 1 August 2026. This 14-day programme welcomed about 500 of the best young science students from over 90 countries. LIYSF 2026 explored developments in the sciences with lecture demonstrations, specialist seminars and debates led by a team of scientists and experts. The students had a great time in the UK and said it was an opportunity they would cherish for the rest of their lives and throughout their future careers in STEM. (STEM = science, technology, engineering and mathematics.). Attendance of the LIYSF is generously sponsored by the Department of Science, Technology and Innovation (DST&I), and South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP) – shout-out to the sponsors!
