Celebrating 30 years of impact: NSTF-South32 Awards honour SA’s best in science, engineering, technology and innovation

The hybrid multi-city gala events of the prestigious NSTF-South32 Awards took place on Thursday, 31 July 2025 for the 27th time. The event is the flagship project of the National Science and Technology Forum (NSTF), famously known as the ‘Science Oscars’ of South Africa (SA). This was a special ceremony where NSTF celebrated its 30th anniversary and our 10-year partnership with South32, that also turned 10 years as a company.

South African excellence in science, engineering and technology (SET) and innovation were crowned and celebrated in 16 categories. To commemorate the 30-year anniversary and milestones of the NSTF organisation, Mr David (Dawie) Botha was honoured as the 3rd recipient of the esteemed NSTF Ukhozi Award, recognising his lifetime contribution to the organisation and SA.
